Francis of Assisi

In colloquial speech the word mystic is often used for something mysterious that eludes rational understanding.

According to today's perception mystic means the immediate experience of a superior world, in particular cases even meeting the Divine. It cannot be achieved by one's own will or by practice but is a divine gift.

Among others Christian Mystics were Hildegard of Bingen, Francis of Assisi, Nicholas of Flüe, Teresa of Ávila, Emanuel Swedenborg, Padre Pio, Anna Maria Taigi, Therese Neumann, Käthe Pfirrmann and Carl Welkisch.

We acknowledge that usage of the term mystic is in the eye of the beholder. We make no arguments concerning its use. May our hearts lead us to an ever deeper, inner alignment with the Love of God the Father and of Christ.
